F1 23 reveals car models, promises updates to reflect real-life changes

Most Formula 1 fans were probably pretty relieved when the new b-spec rolled out by Mercedes showed some promising pace during last weekend’s Grand Prix in Barcelona, Spain, but things might have been a little more tense over at Codemasters’ HQ: F1 23 is not even out yet, but the car models for some of the teams are already outdated.
EA Sports and Codemasters showed off the upcoming game’s race cars on June 7, 2023, and promptly promised an update down the line to reflect the changes the actual race teams have already made during the current season. Mercedes is the most glaring example of this, ditching its unique design without side pods in favor of one that more closely resembles what the rest of the teams is fielding.
Teams like Red Bull, Aston Martin, and Ferrari have brought upgrade packages into play as well, though these have had less of a visual impact – at least at first glance.
Authenticity down to the smallest detail is one of the most important aspects for simulation titles and sports audiences are especially nit picky when it comes to things like that, so F1 23 was put into a bit of a pickle with these real-life developments.
“With F1 being an ever-evolving sport, with teams tweaking the design of their cars all the time, we’ll be releasing an update later this year to cover as many of these mid-season changes as possible,” the game’s Twitter account stated.

Until then, you’ll have to be content with the car models based on their real-life incarnations from the beginning of the 2023 F1 Season – rest assured, they’re still gorgeous and very fast.
